To add organic matter on a lawn in the fall, is it OK to cut a thin layer of leaves?
Tons of leaves here covering the whole court in the fall. It seems an easier way of spreading the peat. This involves cutting finely chop leaves or mulch. I think I will try once or twice this fall, rake leaves and then the rest of the time, as usual. I heard the same concerns on the stubble. Thanks a lot for the idea of mixing the peat with sand and land in order to maximize lesser amount.
its okay once in a while, but it too will end up with a thick layer of straw so that the criteria used on the floor of its always better to use a mixture of topsoil, sand and peat organic matter of good works, if the rake reaches it out thick straw.
